SBN has changed a lot in the last few months. A new look, an upgraded commenting system, all sorts of things. And now they're rolling out the two latest improvements to the comments system - something people have been asking for for a long time.
Late next week, you will be able to edit your own comments! The way it will work is, when you post a comment, you'll have 90 seconds to edit the comment as many times as you wish. There is a countdown timer and a status bar that shows you how much time is remaining to edit your comment. Once that 90 seconds has expired, you will not be able to edit the comment again; editing a comment does not re-start the clock, nor does reloading the page.
The other change to the comments is that now, it will be possible to collapse entire comment threads; clicking on the title of the first comment in the thread will collapse and hide the entire thread beneath it. You will see the subject line of the original comment and an indicator of how many comments are hidden, but the thread will disappear from view. Clicking again on the comment title will make the thread re-appear.
So, that's what's next. Look for these changes probably Thursday-ish; we'll post something when the changes have gone live, but we wanted to let you know that it was coming now.
