Not Strictly Soccer Related: Books and Regret

I just finished reading a really fascinating book about debunking media myths. It's a really engaging read and doesn't so much say "ZOMG NEVAR BELIEVE THE MEDIA", which was my fear, as it says"hey, sometimes the media overstate things and here are a few examples of when and how they do". But even though it's a good book, and one I recommend, that's not really the point of this FanPost.

In the book, the author (who is not the guy who wrote The Power Of Myth) makes a somewhat throwaway reference to Black Hawk Down, and when I came across that reference, my first thought was "I can't believe I've never read that book!" I saw the movie, and it was really good, but for some reason I have never managed to read the book even though it's always been on my list of books I need to read.

So that's today's question: Is there a book or books you've always thought "Geez, I should have read that by now", and always wanted to read, but for whatever reason haven't managed to read?

As usual, anything else that's on your mind is fair game (within the rules, of course). What's going on this week?
