Arsenal youngster departs for Nottingham Forest

Arsenal have confirmed that 21-year old midfielder and England U21 international Henri Lansbury has moved on a permanent transfer to Championship side Nottingham Forest. The spirited midfielder played three games in the Premier League in an Arsenal kit and five times in the League Cup during his time at the club, and scored a pretty famous goal against Tottenham in that competition:

Nice.

Lansbury mostly spent his time on loan at Scunthorpe, Watford, Norwich, and West Ham, and everywhere he went, he not only boosted his club to promotion, but he became a well-loved player as well. Hopefully he can do the same for Forest, because they're Forest, and they are awesome (sorry, Derby supporters; they are). Despite looking to be a good prospect, Lansbury never could quite break into the first team for Arsenal, and even now that Alex Song has departed, there are about eight central midfielders in front of Lansbury in the Arsenal pecking order, so it was time to move on.

I will miss having Lansbury around, because he really seemed to genuinely love Arsenal, having been at the club since 1999 and hailing from local 'hood Enfield. Best of luck and good wishes to him at Forest, and maybe we'll see him back up in the Premier League next year!
