Anfield (where I believe we have won before)
Form: ARS 5-2 | LIV WDLWW
Today Arsenal contest the Michael Thomas Golden Ball with a Liverpool team who won the Carling Cup last week. Arsenal, though, see today's competition as a more prestigious trophy, and will do everything in their power to win it, and put Liverpool 10 points behind them.
To do that, Arsenal have named an unchanged starting lineup from last weekend's 5-2 victory over Tottenham. Yossi Benayoun again plays on the left, where he will come inside and give Arsenal a numerical advantage in the midfield.
Liverpool name Jay Spearing, Martin Kelly, Dirk Kuyt and Jamie Carragher in their lineup, because of injuries and tactical changes. Luis Suarez will be on his own up front, and it's important that Arsenal isolate him, and prevent midfield runners from joining in. Alex Song, Laurent Koscielny and Thomas Vermaelen will have a tough test on their hands this afternoon.
Arsenal: Szczesny; Sagna, Koscielny, Vermaelen, Gibbs; Song, Arteta, Rosicky; Walcott, van Persie, Benayoun
Subs: Fabianski, Jenkinson, Miquel, "Diaby", Oxlade-Chamberlain, Gervinho, Chamakh
Liverpool: Reina; Kelly, Carragher, Skrtel, Enrique; Spearing, Henderson, Adam; Kuyt, Suarez, Downing
Subs: Doni, Flanagan, Coates, Maxi, Shelvey, Carroll, Bellamy
Referee: Mark Halsey
