Not Strictly Soccer Related:  Post-Holiday

Here we are, the day after Christmas. This was always a very anticlimactic day as a kid; all the presents are open and all the surprise is gone, and now it's just leftovers and new toys until school starts again. As an adult, today means back to work after a glorious four-day weekend, and a three-day week is never a bad thing.

So how'd y'all make out for Christmas? My wife bought me five shares in Real Oviedo, which is kind of awesome. Other than that, we went the domestic route and bought a new stove for Christmas, which is not the most exciting thing but was definitely necessary.

The next big holiday is of course New Year's; anybody do anything fun on New Year's Eve? I've never really been a big going-out-on-NYE kind of person; it's sorta amateur night, one of the nights of the year when nobody who ever goes out gets to go out (same as St. Patrick's Day and Cinco de Mayo. I fully endorse the ability to go out, I just have no desire to be around a whole lot of people for whom NYE is one of their few chances to cut loose. So we stay at home and drink and watch bad TV all night.

What about you? Any NYE traditions? Any New Year's resolutions? I resolved to lose 50 lb last year, and I lost 30 - I'll finish up the other 20 this year I think. Anything else you want to talk about?
