Arsenal injury news ahead of West Ham match

Per Mertesacker may still be out with the influenza, but Arsenal's other injury news remains unchanged.

In his press conference today ahead of the Premier League clash against West Ham United tomorrow, Arsene Wenger revealed the latest Arsenal injury news, of which there is not much. Per Mertesacker is suffering from the same flu that previously felled Francis Coquelin, Thomas Vermaelen, and Theo Walcott, and he may not make it at Upton Park tomorrow:

He is better. He came in on Thursday and had a little session. He'll have a test. It is not certain that he will play.

Wojciech Szczesny and Lukasz Fabianski are both still injured as well, so Don Vito Mannone will continue between the posts for the Gunners, with Damien Martinez waiting in the wings on the bench. Surprisingly, Wenger said nothing about the status of Coquelin, who looked to have sustained a rather painful non-contact prang of some kind against Olympiakos on Wednesday night; maybe it was just a twinge, and he is ready to go if needed, or maybe he has gone missing entirely, because the aliens that tranquilized him from the East Upper have taken him back to Planet Kxclmyktm.

The other significant piece of news coming out from the press conference today is that Bacary Sagna could play with the reserves on Monday, as he has how been back in full training for a week, and Wenger believes that it is time to get him an hour on the pitch.
