Arsene Wenger sells his soul to the devil

The summer of 2003.  Arsene Wenger is somewhere on the French Riviera playing chess with himself.  Out of nowhere appears the devil himself.  The devil asks Arsene what he desires more than anything else. Wenger ponders and answers "an undefeated season for Arsenal, a feet that Fergie could never match!"

The devil replies that an invincible team could be had, but for a price.  Wenger pleads with the devil, he can taste the glory of having the only modern team to not lose in an entire season! The devil says the glory can be Arsene's in return for his soul, the only currency the devil accepts.  Wenger wonders what the exchange rate is, it is difficult to keep track when making transfers in Euros and Pounds.  But after checkmating himself, he agrees to the devils terms; simply unable to resit his time to be grandmaster of the football world.

And so come the invincibles. And it was good.  But debts must be re payed (unless your Greece, the US, GM or Wall Street, but that's another story).  The devil has collected more and more from Wenger over the last six years.  Wenger has been to the top, and now the devil must collect his due and bring Wenger down to the very bottom.
