With Cesc as our creative player, you will often see him get some great through passes to put one of our attackers in a 1v1 situation against the opposition goalkeeper. In the game against Bolton yesterday, no less then THREE times he put Arshavin through on goal.
Each time, Arshavin just shot low balls straight at the keeper. This got me to wondering: why don't we see players short-lob the keeper more often in this situation? Once the keeper comes forward he has very little chance of catching a lob, or being able to back track to stop it from going in. A short lob isn't even a difficult skill either; just put your foot under the ball and give it a little push. so what prevents players from executing it? Your thoughts please.
